I have multiple on-premise installations and have been supporting KERIO Connect for over 10 years in all Apple setups. I'm at a crossroad right now due to (mostly) unending calendar issues.
TL:DR
In a nutshell - CALENDAR ISSUES - Apple calendar with Kerio Connect is unreliable and I want to know if Outlook 2016 or using only KC Web will solve my issues or do I need to move my clients to Hosted Exchange or Google Apps?
Full Rant:
All clients are setup the same way:
Generally between 10 - 50 email accounts, OS 10.10 Macmini Server with SSD mailstore. Kerio Connect v8.5.3 (none upgraded to v9 as I am concerned about removal of Old Webmail - which has saved my bacon more times than I can count), Client machines are generally iMacs running either OS10.10 or 10.11 (Fully updated) and ALL use the Apple applications when onsite (Apple Mail, Contacts and Calendar) or KC Web when offsite. Devices are iPhones and iPads all running iOS 9 and most are connected using Exchange but I have also tried CardDav, CalDav and IMAP.
The Calendar problem...
ALL of my clients have calendar issues of some sort almost on a daily basis - Repeating events and delegated calendars with attendees are the biggest pain point. Multitude of issues...change one part of a repeating event and it *might* send out the update and *might* delete the existing event and move it correctly or it *might* just leave a copy of the original and add the new one (now we have 2). It might notify everyone who is invited to a change that wasn't made with no way to - NOT NOTIFY. If you delete an event...it might delete and send a notification to the attendees or maybe not. I have seen multiple times where events just suddenly move 3 hours earlier in Apple Calendar but in KC they are fine. I have seen many instances of events that exist in KC that don't show up in Apple Calendar and Vice Versa. In all of these cases the only way I have been able to fix them has been by logging into the Old Webmail interface and "tweaking" the offending event. I know of no other way to delete or modify events and NOT NOTIFY everyone or to edit only one part of a repeating event. Apple Calendar always notifies and it *seems* the new version of KC does as well?. iOS devices...lol they are all over the place. I tell all of my clients to ONLY accept events from Apple Calendar or KC Web...never from the iOS device (even then I still might see 3 or 4 unaccepted events that WERE already accepted from the computer)
So those of you who primarily using KC in Apple environments - Is your calendaring reliable and what do you use for your clients (KC Web, Outlook, Apple Apps?) and with what success?
Any help, thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
