Our Connect server has been increasingly problematic since November when, in their infinite wisdom, the building electricians cut power to our server room without any notice. UPS units ran until exhausted and server was abruptly shutdown.
We are running Connect 8.5.1 on Mac OS X 10.9.5 (no Server). Prior to the power loss, the server was rock solid and I could quickly restart the process or shut down the whole machine. Now, either option seems to hang (let it go for 4 hours before finally giving up).
We have about 35 accounts and a good number of them are greater than 20 gigs each. When I last looked, between active accounts and archived messages, there were around 6.5 milliion message files (e-mail, calendar entries & contacts).
We are having both IMAP connection and CalDAV sync issues among other things.
I'm planning on migrating the server to a CentOS system soon but want to know what I should do prior to that to clean things up so that the problems don't follow me to the new server.
If there's something I can do to make the current server solid again, I'm game to hold off on the migration for a while.
I've run Reindex Mailbox on my problem accounts and most of the time the account has no problems.
If anyone has other suggestions, I'm open to try them.
Thanks.
Cheers,
Jon
