We have also opened a ticket with ID #3633501 in this case.

So far, GFI has only commented as follows: "The ticket has now been assigned to an agent in our Level 1 support team and we will get back to you as soon as we have an update."

It's been 5 weeks now. Since then not even an interim...

Hello from France

No news about this issue, i have some of my customers arbitrary impacted with this bug
All microsoft workaround doesn't work, the only solution is to recreate all user profile, and the issue can come back !!!

No feedback from GFI ????

We have also clearly narrowed down the problem to the KOFF. Important in this context is that the Windows account must be an Active Directory account. The problem has not yet occurred on clients with Windows local accounts.

I manage a pc without a domain, only in a workgroup. The problem also occurs massively.

same challenge on our side.
-right mouse click on task bar no longer works.
-Start menu stops working. (use classic menu win10 for now)
-search no longer works throughout pc.
comes on top of the Koff error in outlook patch 2205 and the customer shoots you down when you report that the PC needs to be reinstalled. and that doesn't help, so reinstall and use webmail ore imap, not Koff. We're having a good time!
There is no solution from MS for this error. Kerio has to come up with a solution, and I'm afraid this won't work because of the damage that has been done is massif, you see customer event viewer.

Hello,

Can anyone confirm that it is KOFF issue?
The circumstances show that it is, because I have this issue only with PC with KOFF, but who knows?
What about fixing with windows repair aio?
For most of my users it help, but for some users, the problem keeps returning.

Yes, only Customer who are running with KOFF and AD can't use the Search and Windows Start. Since 4 Weeks.

No Solutions since 4 Weeks :/

I have seen the issue reoccur every time there is a Microsoft update. I too do not have AD. I don't believe that KOFF alone is the issue as I found the solution that led me to tweaking.com from someone who never mentioned Kerio. I have seen this happen now a number of times now and each time I have to go back and re-run tweaking.com Windows Repair to get the Start, Search, Internet Access and Date buttons (and maybe more) working. Right clicks work but not left clicks. At this time I am simply running the Common Repairs, cleared all the checkmarks and only checked Reset Registry Permissions which fixed everything up. Only in one case did I need something more comprehensive as the Start and Search buttons worked but the icons on the right side of the screen only worked for right-clicking.

David, thanks for the tweak tip, will give it a try.
since you keep trying the same tweak thing, have you tried uninstalling the MS June updates and patches first? then disable the update service and run the tweak tool.

I did not try it specifically in the way you suggest but I did try to remove updates that had come in closest to when the problem resurfaced and that did nothing. I then updated the system again and then ran TWEAKING.COM afterwards.

Hopefully what I have tried and suggested will work for you as well.

We have received an update on our support ticket from GFI:

"Our Development Team has found that the issue is not related to Kerio Connect and has been reported even without Kerio as described in Microsoft Store Apps fail to start - Windows Client. Please refer to the resolutions suggested by Microsoft. The issue is related to the "ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES" user not having some registry/file permissions and Kerio Outlook Connector does not set any registry permissions.

"We also recommend reviewing the recommendations shared in the forum discussion WINDOWS PROFILE DAMAGED AFTER INSTALLATION AND SYNCHRONIZATION MAIL BOX that advocates for registry tweaks. Several customers confirmed that the recommendation resolved the problem. Moreover, there are anecdotal reports that the online Office repair has worked for some customers."


However, the problem has to do with the Kerio KOFF Client, since this problem only occurs with an installed and active KOFF Client.

Now we are alone again with the problem, although it has been proven that the KOFF client is causing this. It probably won't do that directly, but in conjunction with various things.
