Installed Mountain Duck https://mountainduck.io/ using Wasabi or Contabo, S3 and many others, can create and mount drives but for some reason Kerio Connect just does not want to recognize drive as legit backup storage.
Just want to be able to do backups straight into cloud and not have to allocate expensive server storage for backups.
Please HELP, how to we direct backup to Cloud?

So many missing pieces of information: what version of KC? what host OS? bare metal or virtual? Is using KC's built-in backup the only acceptable option?

its on KC 9.2, Server 2012R2 virtual and using KCs built-in backup... had not given too much thought at using other backup software--interesting. But one would think that KC would have no problems backing up to a mounted drive via Mountain Duck.

Were I a guessing man, I'd say that the Mountain Duck software only works in user mode. I.e., you have to be logged into windows, and then anything that is controlled by MD is visible to explorer or apps. Because KC runs as a service, I would expect it to need the storage to be available via the OS device level (as seen in device manager) or via a share (\\myserver\backups). Depending on the size of your mailstore, you might find that an external USB drive, and a creative scheduled RoboCopy job is all that's needed. That's how we do our weekly off-site backup. Or, purchase a small Synology NAS device and use their free built-in server backup utility.

To add my 2ยข, I think Bud might have nailed the issue.

What I did for backup was to use GoodSync, which can run as a service and backup to cloud storage.

Depending on your need for protection, you could define each mailbox as a source to be backed up when modified. Or define the entire mail store folder as the source if you just want to run once per day.

THANK YOU both for taking the time to move me in the right direction--it would have been nice to just backup from within KC to cloud but it looks like will have to use 3rd party backup. Appreciate all your suggestions and guidance. Rigo
