Hi,

For several days, I have RPC connection problem with outlook (2010,2016 ...), I have no solution for the moment (update, delete kerio outlook connector, delete profile...), the kerio outlook connector does not work and crashes at each start.

Does anyone have the problem?

Thx all.

I recommend to open a support ticket. There could be a number of potential causes for Outlook Connector crashing. It will likely require a review of the logs to find the root cause.

Had this Problem for a month now and thanks to GFI support managed to solve it. But it took two tickets and a phone call with a guy from the support team to get pointed in the right direction.

In my case one specific email in the inbox was causing KOFF to crash, the rpc error within outlook being just a subsequent error. So Outlook itself was actually fine.

My procedure to diagnose that was as follows:

Close all Outlook instances accessing the old buggy account.
Create a new mail account.
Log in to the new account via webmail and share its inbox with the old buggy account.
Log in to the old buggy account via webmail and move ALL emails to the inbox of the new account.
If you have any subfolders beneath inbox, move them too. The task is to practicall remove any email or email folder (except for the inbox folder itself) from the old account.
Start Outlook with KOFF connected to the old account and let it fully sync. If that last step works without rpc errors (or KOFF crashing), one of the moved email items must be the culprit.
Additionally you can use another machine with KOFF and outlook connecting to the new account (after all the mails were moved to it). If it also fails while/after syncing, that is an even stronger indicator.

Identifying the specific email causing KOFF to crash:
Let Outlook (old account) run, additionally log in to the old account via webmail and start moving email items back to the old account (using the shared inbox of the new account).
After each move operation give KOFF a few seconds to fully re-sync and check for rpc errors when klicking/changing folders within Outlook.

I had quite a few emails to move. So i moved them in batches and when KOFF eventually crashed, moved the last batch back, restarted Outlook and KOFF and continued with smaller batches until I located the mail item responsible. I actually went and deleted the found eml file form the server's mail store but I guess deleting it via webmail would also have worked.

Hint: KOFF allows additional connects to other mailboxes. If only one of the connected mailboxes contains a buggy email item (don't know how else to call it), KOFF will crash. So it's a good idea, to first remove any connects to additional mailboxes in KOFF settings.
