Years ago in undergrad engineering school, we were taught that calculations, curves, graphs and (certainly) reports should be annotated such that the reader would get something like the who,
what, when, where, why and how? So, that's what I'd call "good practice".
If one uses GFI Languard to examine the software installed across a population of computers, you will see each app installed. As separate results, you will see which version of the software is installed. So, there may be many entries for the "same" software, just a different version.
When one of these version results is selected, you can choose to show the computers for which the version applies.
When you do that, you get a list that says:
Here are all the computers with Windows 10 version 1.2.3.4.
When you have that display, you can ask for a report (e.g. .pdf).
ALL THIS WORKS FINE\
However, when you get the report, it doesn't show for which version of the software the report was generated for.
This makes the report not only incomplete but very possibly useless.
So, I've tried to suggest this as a FIX but have received no reponse worth mentioning.
It was eventually suggested that I as for a FIX.
Well, I did that but couldn't tell anyone the status of my request....
What's a good next step?
