Due to the lack of an email retention policy at my company, we have a number of unreasonably large mailboxes. For normal users, we set a mailbox size limit. But we have executive team member with unlimited mailboxes going back several years, which as you can imagine renders Outlook excruciatingly slow. My question is, can I limit the mount of time the mailbox will sync with Outlook? I don't need more than a year syncing locally. I see the option for how long attachments are retained but can find no option to limit sync by timeframe. Is it possible?

To my knowledge, there's no way to limit the Offline connector (KOFF) to say, only load messages less than 1 year old. You best defense is training on how to use the 'delete' button. After that, it's some sort of near-line archiving function. The native Outlook function for archiving doesn't play well with KOFF, and is useless. So, it' something like MailStore or the like.
