Hello.
On a kerio connect with 10s of mailbox, one of these keeps increasing in size, since there are several automatic bcc incoming.
We'd like to limit its size, so I set "Permanently delete all items older than XX days", in order to keep only the latest XX days old messages.
When set up, I was expecting to free up 10s of GB on my server, but it didn't happened: just a couple of GB were deleted.
Since there are about 21.000 messages, how can I free up some space on this mailbox without having to logon into the webmail and select/delete all of them?
Can I just delete them from SSH without stopping kerio service?

I wouldn't do that. There might be some indexing going on in the background?
Why not set up a quick account in an IMAP capable mail client like Thunderbird and bulk delete from there?

I've done bulk moves of messages. I have a script to find a range of messages (say from 1/1/ to 12/31) and move them to an archive folder (that was created via a mail client-Outlook, Apple Mail, Connect webmail). After the move, I need to re-index the account so the messages are seen their new home.
So, yes, you can delete them, but after deleting them, you must re-index the account. Even though you're removing the messages from the filesystem, with the re-index Kerio will still think those messages exist. OS level tools should show the correct value for used space, but Connect though the admin web console will likely display the pre-deletion value. I believe there's a way to re-index from the command line, but I've not researched it thoroughly.
Cheers,
Jon

no problems as long as you reindex the box. Sometimes I will brake the Inbox down by year ie "Inbox-2020" and dump all of 2020 in there, same with Sent Items.
Once you are done, just reindex box and webmail see it all. In your case just deleting is fine as well.
