Hi,
I am posting this Feature/Enhancement request on behalf of customer Merge Healthcare, where they had an issue with the TextAPI not being able to recognize strings that start with numbers to not be fax numbers in all cases.
Below are some of the customer's statements rephrased from many written updates and calls:
The TextAPI should check the entire string for alphabetic characters and not only validate if the first character contains a number or not.
It is a bit incongruous that it only checks the first character to determine if it is a fax number, and then strip all alphabetic characters in order for it to be able to send it to the fax line.
The logic to determine the selection method should take into account the entire string.
This also puts a limit on the usage of the TextAPI to specify 'First name' values with non-numerical characters.
Thanks and regards.
