really thanks for the info. i'm planning to build two appliance vith some sff desktop to put in my racks to manage a site to site vpn and all service active in each . thinking about cpu / ram / disk performance , on wich should i focus on ?

I have being using used Dell OptiPlex SFF i5, with 4 GB RAM, and a Samsung EVO SSD smallest lowest price i can find. Why Samsung, i have never had one fail.
The i5 is most likely overkill at the moment but it future proofs for upgrades, and the OptiPlex platform allows me to add RAM if needed in the future.
The only drawback i have seen in this hardware set up is that each network port has to be in their own IP range. Not really a big problem but just a speed bump.
