Hi,

we often have the following problem.

Users complain about new mails suddenly appearing between "older" mails in their inbox or mails arrive with a timestamp, hours into the future.
My first idea was that a difference in time-zone could be causing this but it happens also with mails from our own country and the timedifference is almost never exactly x-hours but most of the time x-minutes.

Below you can find an example as an attachment:

The email was sent at 14:53:18 and arrived within a minute later but got a timestamp of ALMOST an hour later.

Anyone having the same issues?

I think and could be wrong, that OutLook, WebMail, etc go by the 'Date Received' in the message header, not by the 'Date:' field in the body of the message. The former is created by the server when the date some in, the latter is written into the message body by the e-mail client. The two are not linked in any way.

what server version is this? There was a release that has a time stamp issue for windows server. I think it was 9.24 but I am not positive on version number. It was very close to the current version.

Ok, but that doesn't explain why I can see for example in the server log that an email gets received at 14:00h and the email client says it's received at 14:47h. Not only on one client but also on smartphone and tablets.
