Hello all,
i've just registered on the forum, so hello to everybody!
I'm trying to install Kerio VPN Client 9.2.4.2223.win64 on two Windows 7.x64 machines but the installation fails when setup tries to start the VPN client service with the generic error 1920.
Food for thought:
- During the installation Windows prompted me that i was installing an unsigned kernel driver (i presume kvnet.sys) to which i answered "install anyway". The driver gets installed but Kerio VPN service doesn't start giving error 1920.
- I'm installing with administrator privileges
- Both machines had previous versions of Kerio VPN Client which i removed before installing new version
- On both machines i can see a "Kernel-PnP" warning event (219) unable to launch \Driver\kvnet for the device ROOT\KVNETID\000 (rougly translated from a non english language)
What i tried so far:
- Installing every windows update
- Installing KB3033929 to add SHA-2 signing support in Windows 7 (covered by previous point anyway). Kerio Driver install still says driver isn't signed
- Changing Kerio VPN service user to "Administrator"
- Installing with UAC set to lowest value
- Installing by using "Run with administrator privileges"
Installing the same VPN client version on a Windows 10 machine worked fine.
