Hello. I am using a Kerio Control Box 1000 in this office.

The topology of this network wiring is forcing me to try and use two network interfaces on the Kerio Control Box to join two buildings in the network.

I have the Kerio Control working properly in one building with a Cisco switch and VLANs. However I'm at a loss about how to join the other building and another Cisco switch to this network. I have a single network cable from this other building available to connect to the Kerio, but I do not know how to configure the Kerio.

With the working building I have a standalone interface on the Kerio configured with the IP of 192.168.1.1.. I tried using another standalone network interface 192.168.1.2 on the Kerio to connect to the other switch, but I do not know what kind of configurations with routing etc. are necessary to do this.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello,

You can't have 2 different network interfaces on the same network range, every network has it's address which would be the same for your interfaces -> 192.168.1.0

You need to change the network address on the new interface, again network interfaces cannot have the same network address, the firewall would not know where to route packets if there are 2 network addresses equal.

I hope it helps.

All the best,

Jonas

And with your comment the lightbulb lit up 100 watts!

Thank you Jonas. This makes total sense. Should be easy to get this working now.

Hi,

But it would be nice if Control is able to do Teaming/Port Channel of two NICs. To use those two NICs divided of two switches in a stack.

Yes, I've just come across a site where I need to do this. Create an LACP bond on two Kerio Control LAN ports. It doesn't appear to be possible...
