Hello,

I have just received from a GFI Partner the information that the Kerio Products Connect, Operator and Control were taken over by GFI. Is there a statement from Kerio? There is at least nothing to be found on the website.

GFI already welcomes the Kerio users.

[EDIT]
There is already an announcement from Kerio

Best regards
Jens Osterwohldt

We are specialists for migrations from AVM KEN! 4 and David from Tobit.Software to Kerio Connect.

Will be interesting considering everything I've read so far about GFI, says that their products are sub-par and their company/support is appalling.

I will keep an open mind for now, but GFI does have a certain reputation, at least in the circles I travel in. To paraphrase Sir Barnett Cocks:

"GFI is a cul-de-sac down which good products are lured and then quietly made unusable."

I used to use GFI products when I ran an Exchange server. I did have some troubles with it and was glad when I switched to Kerio Connect. I'm hoping for the best but need to start planning in case of trouble.

We are already starting the move to another product...

I want to thank all the Tech support people

but as usual the management of Kerio have no interest in its customers just the bottom line.

GFI is worse so don' expect anything from them...

There is not much I can share now. But existing customer support will get even higher priority with GFI.

Chatting with a friend, he made the observation that this could be the next step in Kerio becoming an all-cloud company. This process was started with the replacement of Kerio Workspace with SamePage.

And now samepage is not part of Kerio and not included in the sale to GFI. It's a free standing company now.

Aside from the software from GFI and their products, there are other points I'm not too happy about.

GFI is a bigger company, so I think we will see some price increases in the future - their stuff is far from cheap.

Also they are like married to Microsoft, so Kerio Connect might have problems in the future from that. Nothing better for MS to cripple a good competition with this.

Let's see how it goes. It takes at least 6 months from now to integrate both companies (not complete, but the first steps), so we should see in about a year the first real management choices that come from GFI and will start interfering with kerios current state.
