I'm getting a lot of spam that bypasses the spam filter from various .top domains. I'd like to just block all .top mail from getting through. I tried in custom rules with no success. It looks like I have use name.top instead of just top.

Any suggestions.

"From - Domain - *.top - Reject"

I have a few rules like this and they all work great.

I have blocked about 20 of the new top level domains like

*.icu
*.top
*.click
*.xyz

and many others. To do this, go to

Configuration > Spam Filter > Custom Rules

Create one rule per top level domain, e.g.:

Description: .top Spam
Condition: Mail Header
Header: From
Type: contains domain
Content: *.top
Action: Treat the message as Spam and reject it

Don't forget to click on OK, and then on Apply, to save the configuration.

A really important addition to that. Inform your boss and the colleagues about it! In most cases, the IT has NO idea of the sales department or the customer base, so they might block a real offer request etc. by BLOCKING the stuff.
Personally I also added some rules, but they increase the spamfilter score so much, that any other spam detection would mark/reject them. Like we get a shitload from *.pl right now, but also some legit mails. That's why I don't block, I just increase. In 99% this works great. So far we had no false positive (I watch all spams once a day for that reason) and only like 2-3 spams marked but getting tru. And the controlling of the spam mails from my side is only temporary.

So please, before you BLOCK, ask the management!
