Hello there,
I am facing a weird problem with my Kerio Connect 8.5.3. I would love to integrate the SMTP in some third-party software (such as a ticketing system e.g.) but I just can not connect to it from outside the office through our external IP address and port 25/465/587. IMAP works just fine, though. So does the web mailer. Even sending mails through the web mailer succeeds.
It is just the SMTP that I can not connect to.
I first thought it is a misconfiguration in our firewall but I can telnet any other forwarded port through our external IP, just 25, 465 and 587 will not work. DNAT rules do exist, though. And they are a 100% correct.
Also the services are up and running on the Kerio Connect and use the standard ports (25, 465, 587).
Can someone just help me out with this issue? I'd be very grateful.
Thank you very much in advance!
BR
Sebastian

Log files are your friend. The firewall rules may be correct, but is something else in the firewall blocking this? These attempts should be logged somewhere, especially if they are failing. I would start with the firewall. Hopefully it has a monitoring ability to display log entries as they happen, and hopefully with some sort of filtering ability. Start that up and try to connect to the ports and see what the firewall is really doing. If that doesn't reveal anything, move to the Connect Debug log. There are a number of different message logs that can be enabled to show what it is doing.
