Hi all,

I have a customer that needs to have email delivered via an external provider, even for mail sent between local users on the Kerio server.
Mail coming from the outside obviously performs an MX lookup and comes via the external service which does some processing of the email and then forwards it on to Kerio. Mail sent from one kerio user to another kerio user is not going out to the 'net, it's simply being kept internally and delivered direct. Is there any way to force Kerio to behave like this without having to specify a relay server? (don't have one handy)

Many thanks

No, you cannot change that.

Internal Mail is always handled internally. Also other mail servers (like Exchange) work the same way.

It sounds like your customer is wanting to intercept and keep a copy of all of the internal emails. If that's true, there's no need to do what you're describing. Kerio Connect 9 has built in filters that will do redirects. You access these filters through the Kerio Connect admin.

This customer is switching to Google Apps and is doing so in a phased manner, with only a small group of test staff in the pilot.

In the past, if a customer had to be split between two email servers, I would setup the domain on each server, and then use the option to forward to the other server if a user was not found. Since this is Google, this won't apply because of the distributed nature of their servers. We don't know which server to forward the message to. I say you should just go all in.
