After a successfully Upgrade of the kerio Connect to Version 8.5.2 the Server try to open a connection to the following IPs:

52.17.95.126
54.76.101.119

Behind that 2 IPs is the Hostname push-gateway.kerio.com registered.

Why is the Server contacting directli to that IPs.
(Proxy is configured)

They are used for CalDAV clients to receive immediate notifications through push. Only a temporary token is shared, there is not exchange of other information. If you block access to these hosts then you will lose immediate push to CalDAV clients, however you will still receive updates based on regular polling intervals (usually a few minutes). I have made a note to provide these details in our knowledge base.

ok, Thanks for the Information.

But why is the Server connecting directly to the internet and not over the Proxy?
I have configured the Proxy as connection for the Internet inseide Kerio.

Does i need to configure it also in netsh winhttp?

Regarding the push through the HTTP proxy, it should work. I have filed a bug for this.

Regarding the ability to disable the feature, it be disabled in mailserver.cfg in DAVPush table: Remove the value from ServerDefinedGateway variable so that it becomes empty.

I'm curious. What's the reason for this?

I have an open ticket on this #YFA-878850. Last week, I noticed that my events were not syncing between my two Macs, and my iPhone. I noticed that the refresh in my Calendar app on both Macs changed from Push to every 15 minutes. I then noticed in the Debug log that the connection to push-gateway.kerio.com was timing out. It's still doing this. I rebooted the CentOS VM that Kerio Connect is running on hoping that might clear up the issue. It didn't. Some of my log entries are below.

17/Sep/2015 10:27:50][4978] {webdav} [push] Could not acquire push gateway lock.

[17/Sep/2015 10:27:48][23910] {webdav} [push][gateway] Network error: Timeout was reached

Howie,

thank you for reporting it. We are aware of occasional request timeouts when connecting to our cloud push service. We're investigating the issue and I'm confident we fix it really fast.

Thanks. I'm quite confident that Kerio will fix this. If you need any additional logging data, I'm happy to submit it.

That would not be necessary. I think I have found the reason. We're working on a fix.

This seems to be fixed?

-- EDIT (I notice you confirm it is fixed. Thanks for the hard work)

I had a whole office full of issues that was gradually getting worse. I assumed it was something wrong with our client config or the mail server.

Symptoms:

Clients using Mail.app and Calendar.app weren't able to pull invites from mail into their calendar using a refresh in calendar.app.

Clients would get "Unable to refresh" in Calendar.app and a warning triangle.

Webmail was working fine as usual.

After this morning everything started working again and I notice no connection errors in the debug log.

Do the symptoms above sound likely to have been caused by this issue? Or should I be looking more in depth at our systems?

Thanks lots.

Oli

My understanding is the fix was applied to Kerio's push servers (servers owned and run by Kerio)

You don't need to install anything locally.

I could be wrong. I'm sure someone from Kerio will correct me if I am.

Cheers
