OK. I don't know what to tell you then. Mine works. The thing that is different is that you and I are on different Kerio Connect servers. Perhaps mine is setup in a way that agrees with El Capitan better. If it doesn't work for you with the final release of El Capitan, and what ever version of Kerio Connect that is out at the time, then I'm sure Kerio will help you get it working.

Having the same issues as you. All my 10.9.xand 10.10 users are using Jabber with no problems. Since installing 10.11 I haven't been able to use Jabber.
I'm running Kerio Connect 8.5.1 and now running latest DP (15A244d) hoping each new release will fix it. No such luck.
I have also manually and used the Connect client. We only run our Jabber as SSL (port 5223), but for testing I also enabled port 5222 for non-SSL and no change. Even did a clean install of 10.11 on a brand new system and still no Jabber.

Hi all,
I did a quick test and Messages successfully connected to Kerio Connect. However no matter what I put into Server Settings it always use port 5223 with SSL and the domain part of username as a server.
I suggest to:
- ensure Secure Instant Messaging service is running on port 5223
- insert a line at the end of /etc/hosts on client machine which pairs server IP address with your testing domain, e.g. '192.168.1.1 elcapitaintest.com'
My test configuration:
Server: Kerio Connect 8.5.1 on OS X 10.10.4
Client: Messages 8.0 (5078) on OS X 10.11 (15A243d, Beta 3)
Certificate: autogenerated, self-signed
Cheers,
Tomas Skoda

Thanks for looking at this Tomas.
I have checked that my server is running SSL over 5223.
I have also checked that pinging my domain name resolves to the correct ip address for the Kerio server.
Still no joy.
My config page in messages is set to:
Server: domain.com
Port 5223 Use SSL ticked
Warn before sending password insecurely is ticked but I cannot untick this - would that make any difference?
Thanks

I have also tried to get Jabber working using a third party app like Adium and it doesn't work there either.
If it is an SSL cert issue, why is this the only SSL service that is affected? Wouldn't my mail services using the same SSL cert and server be affected too?
In testing I disabled my SSL requirement and I can't log in using port 5222 either.

Yes, thank you for pointing that out over and over. However since others continue to have this issue and you are in the minority as the only working system with 10.11 so far in this forum. I'd still hope that someone from Kerio will chime in.
Is your Connect server install a clean fresh install of 8.5.1 or was it upgraded from a previous working version?
If you think the Jabber protocol has changed, how do you explain that? Are you saying it changed from 8.4.x to 8.5.x? I have been having the XMPP problem since 8.4.x with 10.11. I upgraded to 8.5.1 hoping that would fix the problem, but it has just persisted.
All my other 250 users that are still on Yosemite and Mavericks have no problems whatsoever. The only workstation that has a problem is our testing environment in El Capitan.

Hi all,
I want to dig into this problem little more so I'm asking you for your help. Please follow these instructions:
1. enable Instant Messaging debug log on Kerio Connect server
2. on El Captain create a new Messages account, try to connect to server (note down current time)
3. on El Captain download Adium client (1.5.10)
- run it with 'alt' key pressed (from Application folder), select 'run in debug mode' in the dialog that appears
- configure the same account as in Messages and try to connect (note down current time)
4. Share with me (in PM) zipped:
- logs from store/logs (error, warning, security)
- logs from store/xmpp/logs
- content of Adium->Debug Window
- date and time when you tried to connect from Messages and a result (success, failure)
- date and time when you tried to connect from Adium and a result (success, failure)
- mailserver.cfg
Thanks for your time,
Tomas Skoda
