Hi, our Mountain Lion server has developed an authentication issue, while it is nothing major and only affecting logging in to the wiki server. I would like to take the opportunity to set up a completely fresh Mavericks server.

I have installed it on a Mac Mini so I can configure it without disrupting our production server.

On our current sever we have kerio located on an external HD to keep it separate from the boot drive,

So I have installed Kerio on the mac mini now and copied over the configuration files.

When I am ready to move this over to our main server, will kerio still find the external HD and carry on working without any further configuration, or will I need to reselect this location in kerio admin.

Just looking for a smooth transition, is there anything i need to be careful of?

Hi nitrokev

You should have a look at this KB as it details migrating from one server to another -

http://kb.kerio.com/360

as long as the path to the store is correct, it should work.

I hope this helps!

I would just check the config file (mailserver.cfg) line that begins "<variable name="StoreDir">" and make sure it is pointing to the correct location.

Other than that, I believe you should be good.

Cheers,
Jon

If you have the opportunity, you might consider running Connect and OSX Server on separate boxes.

I find it useful to be able to work with both systems independently. I rarely touch the Kerio box apart from upgrades to Connect.

OSX server, on the other hand, needs a lot more 'intervention'.

YMMV.

Cheers,

ft.

Thanks for the replies, I'll check the path and try and move at the weekend

And yeah I'd love to put it on a separate server, unfortunately our second server is playing up and I'm having to put everything on one for the time being.

I plan to have a mac mini or 2 for things like mail and our DAM server, but as we have no budget for that at the moment I'm eating this server up fresh to hopefully weed out any issues that have crept in over the years.

Single server with very regular backups for me at the moment Smile
