Hi there,

i'm currently setting up a mail server for my company.
For each user there should be a mail address for internal communication and a mail address for external communication (Domains: @company.intern and <_at_>company.de).

It seems that it is only possible to add a second email address to a user if the email domains are the same. Is it possible to add a mail address of another domain to a user?

Problem is, that we purchased a license for 25 users, my company needs 20 userss. Or 40, if that doesn´t work.

Did you define an alias (either your internal or external domain-probably should be the internal) under the Domains section? Not an additional domain.

Cheers,
Jon

thanks for your reply,

unfortunately an alias is not an option for me, because the internal and external emails should be kept separately. This is because my company wants to keep the structure we had on the old mail server.

I guess buying extra licenses is the only way to achive this?

If you need separate mailboxes for the internal and external domain, you need two licences per user.
If you can have all the mail for each user collected in the one mailbox, and possibly filter it with server-side rules, then you define the internal domain as an alias under the external domain and only need one licence per user.
