This seems like something simple, so I'm not sure if this is something I am missing or a small bug in Connect.

In the Administration Interface, I am in Configuration --> Spam Filter --> Custom Rules

If I right click on a Column header (such as Content) I see a pop-up for Sort Ascending and Sort Descending however those items are disabled.

Is this a bug, a problem with my configuration or a feature to be implemented?

It is not a bug.

The order of custom spam rules matters. So to avoid user confusion this particular list honors the order of rules and cannot be sorted in other way.

Thanks Pavel -

If I'm using this to "whitelist" domains or IP's can you help me understand how a specific order is important? I'm sure there are other use cases where the list order might be important - but for my use case does it really matter?

For example two rules:

1. block all messages with subject "Cheap Rolex"
2. allow all messages from domain "mycustomer.com"

or

1. block all messages to email "notused<_at_>domain.com"
2. allow all messages from "user<_at_>somedomai.com"
Should the message from "user" to "notused" be delivered or not?

As you can see, if there is more than one type of custom rule, the order does matter. The servers processes the rules from top to the bottom.

While I understand that the order matters and can appreciate that fact, I'd like to be able to temporarily sort the list on the "Last Used Before" column so that I can purge unused or outdated rules.

Once I move from the tab, the list reverts back to the normal order.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Jon
