If a user isn't browsing the web then they won't be forced to authentication. If they haven't authenticated yet and they have some application accessing the Internet (e.g. email client) then the traffic is logged under 'unrecognized users'.

If your users have static IP addresses then what I like to do is associate their IP address with the user name. Then any Internet traffic from them is associated with their user name automatically.

Go to Users and Groups -> Users and edit the user accounts one at a time. Go to the IP Address tab. You can type in their IP addresses here.

Kerio Is Most Advanced Network Rules Combination Features I ever see.Another Shortcut to Fix The Unrecognized users (because Jeff tips only applicable when User IP is Static) with dynamic address is :
Kerio Control -> Domain and Users Control -> always require authenicated users to access webpages. (must be checked).
So any 'webpage' access from users and spy will not go through Kerio.

Hope to help you, Cool
Regards, Behnam

So any access(bridge,unauthorized,...) from users and spy or client os bugs will not go through Kerio.

The option above applies only to webpages. Applications using other protocols can still go through and will appear as "unrecognized user" in the statistics.

You can use "authenticated users" as a source in traffic rules and limit outgoing traffic for other protocols that way.

First of all organize your users in some groups, then in the Traffic Rules add a rule for accessing Internet interfaces with your groups you want to access Internet in source column.
now go to the Http Policy and add two policy there.
first add a rule to allow authenticated users have access completely with Allow in action column and your groups in User column.
finally you need a rule to deny all other users access, add a rule with Deny selection in Action column and in User rules any users.
now if you refer to User Statistics pan can see the unrecognized users activation have stopped !
I hope it help you Very Happy
