Dear all!
One of our customer is running 5 Kerio Controls on Hyper-V and want to migrate to "real hardware". Du to the costs of the Kerio Boxes we want to install Kerio Control on a Box, which was already runnimg OPSense without problems and good performance.
BUT: The hardware is new and does not support boot from Legacy but only from UEFI.
UEFI is almost 10 years old and all the new Hardware we know does not support legacy boot anymore.
In the KERIO-archives we can't find any version which has an UEFI-Bootloader, so what should I tell my customer?
The Firewall only runs only on older Hardware? (well, the kernel is also "old")
Switch to OPNsense, which is for free?
Our customer pay many $$ for the licenses (I guess almost 100 licenses), an there is no way to install the software on a newer Hardware? Really?
Maybe there is a workaround we don't know....
Another topic is the creation of Let's Encrypt certificates, there are many postings here about this, starting years ago. But it's not implemented yet.
Comparing to other Firewalls-products this very sad, OPNSense, as mention for FREE, also include an ACME-client to do this job.
I would be happy to hear form GFI!

Sometimes I wonder why we all here use GFI products......
GFI is not the only one, even the big players, for instance Sophos, don't support UEFI at this time.
