Hi,
the KOFF search performance when dealing with large mailboxes is really bad.
We tried all the steps that the Kerio Support told us to do and the search is still way to slow.
In our case the search in the calendar takes 70sec (before all of the tips and tricks of the support) and around 45sec after applying all the tips and tricks.
In the end the support confirmed our assumption that it has something to do with the backend implementation of Firebird DB.
This is way to slow, if we change to ActiveSync it takes under 3seconds.
Please share your experience here to raise awareness of the topic.
The change of the backend implementation of FirebirdDB is long overdue and according to support the problem is known and occurs at several customers.
Greetings,
Korbi

Hi Korbi,
I am in the same position. I moved a customer away from R-space. The customer has 15 users and ALL have huge mailboxes. Under R-space hosted exchange searching was instantaneous. On a Kerio server it takes 8 minutes. Support has blamed it on EVERYTHING. All the hardware far exceeds their specs, the internet connections are 1Gx1G fiber. All SSDs. I have tried it on many different PCs, Outlook 2013-2016-2019, O365. Every answer from support for every question involves resetting the index, creating a new profile and this is the best one telling the user he has too much mail...And of course they forwarded it to the developers. The database issue is not the issue. On an exchange server the query goes back to the server and the results are returned within seconds. Even with Kerio Webmail the results are there in a second. Its the way Kerio implemented the query in KOFF. Not in the local database. If they would send the query back to the server and only get a list of the results it would be just as fast as exchange.
I spent a week migrating this customer to Kerio and another working with support and now a third Waiting for answers from developers..
I am likely going to lose this client on Monday...
