When an admin launches a scan from the LanGuard UI specifying alternate credentials, the software will still use the credentials used to launch the UI before it tries the credentials that were manually specified in the scan configuration. This causes multiple failed logins to be logged in security logs and can trigger alerts from IDS applications. However, if the software would simply honor the users wishes and try to authenticate with the specified alternate credentials before using the credentials that the UI was ran with the majority of these security events could be avoided.
