Hello,
we are running an Kerio Installation with ~200 Heavy Users.
The Average User Mailbox size is 20GB. The big ones are around 85GB. In Average every User has 35000 elements in his Mailbox the maximum is 180000 items.
In total over all users this is 1.5TB of mail storage.
We use an Ubuntu Linux Server with 8 Cores on 2.1 Ghz and 16GB RAM.
We are experiencing Performance Issues, as we use only MacBooks the Apple Calender sometimes sync very slowly. Also mail (Web + Apple Mail) is sometimes very slow.
Sometimes a restart of the Kerio Server helps but after a few days everything is slow and laggy again.
Is there a maximum user/item count that kerio can handle without performance issues? It seems not to be an bug because of everything is running normal just the performance is bad.
Is there a way we can improve performance? Does it make sense to use a bigger server with more cores or more RAM?

You don't tell much about the server hardware, like Maker (Dell, HP, white box, etc.), storage controller (RAID options? RAID Level, etc.), the drives on which your data is stored (5400, 7200 10k, 15k, SSD, what interface they are using to connect to the controller), the network interface type/speed, etc.
Your Processor is probably fine; RAM may need a bump to 32GB, but probably not right away.
I think the issue is storage speed.
Kerio performance is extremely dependent on the speed of your storage.
Give us some more details and we can, hopefully, guide you to a good solution.
Cheers,
Jon

No, that's not necessary.
A fast disk array should meet your needs. What about a RAID10-SAS disk array?
Cheers Tom

Stange. I have this Issue every Day.
At 8:00 our Users start to work, then Kerio is slow af the System Load is by about 18. When i restart the Kerio Process at 8:30 the load is ok and everything is fine the rest of the day until the next morning at 8:00.
As the Server runs the whole day without any problems, i don't think its hardware related?
