Dear Kerio Team,
These week i was asked to test your product as we really like the web and cool features you provide.

I have installed a Trial Kerio Connect 9.2.8 P1 on Windows Server 2016.

Here are the steps to reproduce the error

1) Clean install Windows Server 2016
2) Clean Install kerio Connect 9.2.9 P1
3) Create test user
4) We moved about 1000 emails and 20 folders as a test in account
5) Install this account as IMAP to 10 PC (we have a call center where all operators are using 1 mailbox in outlook)
6) When all users start send/receive open folder count of that account goes up to 10 - 15

Bug 1:
During this all IMAP operation to this account are impossible (no mails come or receive)
Webmail of a client is not working
(how ever all other users stay ok till step 2)

Step 2 system crash
now during this situation, just navigate from open Folders to Active Connections

a) HTTP and HTTPS services crash after 20 seconds
b) After 1 minute IMAP and other services crash

Dear Kerio team i have reproduces this error 3 time
1) Have reinstalled windows system
2) Tried different hardware
3) different network speed (from internet and from local network)

How ever if all accounts use Webmail or active sync such errors are not presented

Bug 1 described maybe ok just overall, but Step 2 crashes Kerio Connect

What kind of disk does this system has? Is it an SSD?

Before connecting 10 users did the 1000 emails import all?

Dear Ian,
Disk is SSD (500 GB)

Yes we imported all mails

This bug is related to IMAP protocol

The thing server was going slowly with this account while others where ok, but system crash follows when you try to open connections tab during folder reference count is like from 8 to15

What Client did you use for IMAP? It might be the client making problems here, locking folders and files.
Mind you, IMAP is not a sharing tool. It's simply not build for 10 users working at the same time in the same system. The protocol itself is not really made for that. Like I said - if the client does a checkup for new mails every 10 seconds or so, it has to sync all folders. If 10 clients do that at the same time while moving/deleting files etc. it gets nasty. It CAN work with sharing, but the client and server need to support that in some way. And I didn't find a server till now, that could handle something like that without problems.

Better way would be, to use a public folder for this case and let the users (callcenter) use a single outgoing address.

Dear Maerad,
We used Outlook 2016

Of course the best way is active sync

I just decided to write regarding the situation we had, as all users were migrated for a test from a Cpanel (on Cpanel of a provider everyone has IMAP). So to migrate ease we used IMAP for a test.
The bug described on top makes Kerio HTTP / HTTPS engine to crash

That is why we decided to report

Dunno if you can really call it a bug, if you use it in a way it was not build for. Smile I hope the dev. reads it.

Btw. for migration - check http://www.kerio.com/support/kerio-connect > download > tools. You can find a IMAP migration tool there for various operating systems. And they work great.

If Kerio gets slow or doesn't accept connections in this situation, that may be ok, but if it crashes, it is a bug.

Update,
Installed Kerio Connect on Jessie Debian 9

The same, if you install a

1)Mail Server
2) Put for a test 50 emails on a inbox
3) Connect the same account by secure IMAP on the 10 PC (Push send and receive the same time)

Open folder count goes up to 10 - 8

After you move to a Active Connections and click auto refresh

Kerio Crash HTTP and HTTPS connections for 3-4 min on a linux

After it run again

But this scenario will happen all the time you do this actions

Hope some one will read this

PS: If you use a active sync or Kerio Office connector this does not happen
This is related only to IMAP
