I am just setting up a brand new mailserver and in reviewing the manuals I came across this page:

https://manuals.gfi.com/en/kerio/connect/content/server-conf iguration/security/securing-kerio-connect-1239.html#sect-fir ewall

The chart shows:

Service (default port) Incoming connection
SMTP (25) allow
SMTPS (465) allow
SMTP Submission (587) allow
POP3 (110) deny
POP3S (995) allow
IMAP (143) deny
IMAPS (993) allow
NNTP (119) deny
NNTPS (563) allow
LDAP (389) deny
LDAPS (636) allow
HTTP (80, 4040, 8800) deny
HTTPS (443, 4040, 8443) allow

You will note that on the line it shows HTTPS with port 8443.

Within the Administration screens of 9.2.5 patch 3 CentOS 7 Linux in Configuration -> Services the service Secure HTTP shows

All Addresses 443, All Addresses 8843.

Are they both correct or is one of these incorrect?

Happy New Year all.

Yes, should be 8843. Looks like a typo in the help topic. I've sent the request to get this updated in the online help. Thanks for the question and answer on this.

Thank you for responding and Happy Healthy New Year.

Nice to hear that Brian is still with the group.

Am I to understand that if I am using ActiveSync that I would not have any need of this 8843 port in my configuration and that it is only for synchronization using the CardDav method? I just don't want to exclude something from the firewall that would disrupt the smooth running of the mailserver in a way I didn't expect.

Thanks.

The defaults for previous versions (and the account setup assistant) have been 8443. I've been using Secure HTTP over 8443 for a number of years/Connect versions. My services screen shows 443 & 8443.

Since this is a new server, shouldn't be an issue, but for older servers, just be aware...

Cheers,
Jon
