My license just expired. I did not receive any emails from GFI or Kerio in advance.

I normally renew online at the Kerio Connect pricing pages: http://www.kerio.com/how-to-buy#find

The page still states "Find a Partner or Buy Online", but I d not see any button to purchase online. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

ft.

Hi fishtech - GFI has moved Kerio products to a two tier sales model so we no longer sell online and that shift may have been why the reminder emails didn't get to you. You can find a partner with the locator tool on that page and they will be more than happy to help you get your license renewed ASAP.

I'm a very long time licensee of Kerio Connect. I have always bought direct.

I just used the Partner finder since it sounds like I will no longer be able to buy direct.

http://www.kerio.com/how-to-buy#find

I'm 15 miles from the Silicon Valley. The nearest and only partner is 125 miles away in Fresno.

To say that the transition to GFI Software has been disconcerting is an understatement.

FishTech & Will,

If you need to renew, I've got a partner I've just worked with last week to do a renewal, so they are familiar with the new GFI process.

Just PM me for contact info.

And as a disclaimer, I'm not the partner.

Cheers,
Jon

We have renewed ourselves online for years.

Removing the online renewal capability. Add that to the list of GFI's complete disregard for its customers.

GFI - do something to help us instead of making our lives harder at every step.

The partner process is simple. Just locate one and contact.

I, like many here, was a Kerio partner. I had a few clients running Connect and all was well.

I don't meet the reseller requirements of, in this case, Lifeboat. This is because of the way that I've been doing business-not reselling but simply purchasing the Kerio licenses for my customers using their credit card for payment. They were receiving the partner discount, but it also meant that I wasn't purchasing, marking up, and then selling (and needing to collect state sales taxes) on the licenses. So, I never acquired a resale license-apparently a requirement for working with Lifeboat.

I ensured that my client understood that they needed to remit the sales tax themselves, since they needed to do so for almost all of their online purchases, until recently when Amazon and others started to charge tax.

So, not all of the old partners are onboard, and there is one in my local are who, with the acquisition, just closed up shop. And, I did have to push the partner with whom I worked to get everything finalized with Lifeboat for themselves.

In the end, a lot more work for me and a greater cost to my client. Not a win in my book.

Cheers,
Jon

It sounds like you were trying to be nice to your clients but that is not how the model was ever supposed to work.

The words "Buy Online" should be taken off of that page. I found no place to buy online on that page or anywhere.

Like many here I tell my customers where to buy what I want them to buy. I bill them by the hour to do this. My fiduciary responsibility is to my customer. If I buy it and mark it up I have a different set of responsibilities. I would not charge them if a flaw in the product took an hour of my time. I also would not charge them for returns or warranty work. I would have to hope that the markup was enough to cover this. It is a different business model.

I will not tell them to buy from my local competitor. But there are none, so that is not an issue.

At the moment I can't find anywhere to buy it. GFI has effectively discontinued the product.

I have applied to be a partner, but I am not sure I want to be one. I only have 4 to 8 customers that I might ever recommend Kerio to.

When I get some time I will go through the find a partner process. Confused Who do I bill that time to?

You can't find anywhere to buy it? Seriously?

When I tried the buy page, it was limited to finding a partner within a 125 mile radius of my zip. It found one within this area which happens to be the Silicon Valley. But Fresno? Really?

I could care less if the partner is near me. I work on the Internet.

That is a good point that you can only search within a limited radius. PM me if you like.

As one who gets tired of dealing with resellers that don't follow up, take forever to return a call or just flat ignore you.... can anyone recommend a reseller anywhere in the US that will actually return a call?

Odd that I could renew my Operator license and one of my Connect Licenses just a couple of months back.

Didn't anyone at GFI think it would be a good idea to notify us about this change BEFORE needing a license renewal?

How about updating our Customer Profiles with not only our current/active license information but also assign the closes reseller so we don't have to waste hours of our day hunting down someone that just wants to "manage us as a customer".

Since the "search" function is limited to 125 miles, that makes it kinda tough to find a reseller in AZ, NM or Mexico. Just open it up to anyone in the US that wants to resell your product.

Is DELL an authorized reseller? If so, just let me know.

I HATE the reseller model. It's just adds unnecessary overhead and spam email in my inbox every day. Give me a discounted DIRECT purchase link.

ARGH!

You could call GFI. They should be able to find you a reseller. If that doesn't work for you, use the link in my signature to contact us. We give a quote same day and process as soon as you give the okay. (Mon-Friday)
