Is it possible to let kerio automatically clear (delete) messages for a specific users "Sent" folder? Maybe after a specific time (eg messages older than 30 days).
Background:
My customer use one of his mailboxes on a apple ipad to send photos to coworkers. This ipad saves every mail in its Sent folder (like every mail client do). Because photos are large and nobody use this mailbox in real the mailbox getting quite large after some time.
My customer told me that there is no way to configure this ipad to not save this mails in the Inbox folder so it would be very handy to automatically delete such mails.
Thanks and greetings
Martin

If the mail profile on the iPad is set up to use ActiveSync, then you can edit the mail account profile in the iOS settings to specify the number of days worth of mail to sync. This setting applies to ALL mail associated with the account on the iPad though - not just the SENT folder.
A permanent solution that applies to the SENT folder across all devices can be implemented by following http://kb.kerio.com/1179

_DON'T_ enable the "delete send folder" option!
That is such a no go for this case!
There's a reason any mobile device has a function to config the sync days. This option will DELETE the mails! You can't get em back!
In the ipad, select another sync time and you're fine. We also use that, so the pad saves like 10 days for the mails and after that it deletes the mails LOCALLY, not on the server. So if someone needs to read the mail, he need to dl it again to the pad, but they are not gone.
If there is a lawsuit as example or a customer says "never got a mail from you", you can't print the send mails for the court or prove the customer otherwise. Delete sending mails is one of the no gos of any company.
Just change the sync times on the darn thing and be done.
Spam and Trash delete is ok, but never send items.
What you do, is buying a new car if a glass is broken, instead of changing the broken glass.

Thanks for you reply, but serverside deleting the messages is exactly what I want to do!
A quote of my original post:
Because photos are large and nobody use this mailbox in real the mailbox getting quite large after some time.
Explanation:
On every mailserver I've a "dummy" account I use for several services which needs to send mails. Like backup programs, RAID-Controller, Server-Software and so one. All of them regularly send status mails. And this account is also used on that ipad just to internally send photos to coworkers emails adresses. Thus, the mails for this dummy-account are never ever need to be saved on the server as this account is just used to fire and forget mails to somewhere.
Thanks and regards
Martin
