I wanted to give Kudos to Pavel and the Development Team for providing a great new version of Kerio Connect Client and Server. The clarity and the new features are AWESOME, I thought my vision had changed for the better last night when I first launched the WEB Client!!

The CHAT Feature is well integrated with the interface and also very well done.

Unfortunately many of our Departments did not want to have CHAT available to their staff but SOME DID.
Currently it appears we can only toggle the CHAT module on or off at the Domain Level so I had to turn it off.
I am hoping for the Development team to consider in the future release that you allow more granular control of the CHAT module in the Administration Module so we can allow this feature to be toggled on or off for individual users profiles so it would allow us to provide CHAT to the Departments Staff that do want to use this feature.

Thanks for Consideration and Congratulations on a great new Release!!

TIA

In the management console, you can create a policy and deny the 'instant messaging' protocol. We don't use the Kerio IM here, so I don't know how the Kerio Client will honor this policy setting when a user logs in.

It will not. Chat in Kerio Connect Client can operate independently on Jabber (XMPP) component. Chat can be disabled either for whole email domain in the domain setting or by the user himself in Kerio Connect Client settings.

Thank you!

Users can turn it off in Kerio Connect Client settings. For easier configuration we've make this option for whole email domain as primary on/off switch. This should be sufficient for majority of companies. More granular setting (per-user) is managed by users in client setting.

Hi Pavel,

We have a 911 center that wants this but most of our other departments do not. Do you think in a future release that there might be consideration to add this setting in the Admin Console so we could apply it to Users and Groups there, or perhaps could it be added as a restriction based policy?

Thank you for the reply.
