Hi,
We have the following Problem. We use Carbon Copy Cloner as backup Software on a Mac. On this Server cannot often send mails (SMTP) from itself. Sometimes it works. Kerio accept the mails not. From other network clients or clients that connected over VPN works. For example we have used the Apple email app on the kerio server and mails cannot be send onself. We have create the account with kerio Connection Assistant. Strange's just that it happens only on the kerio server itself. Can someone help me please.

Is the nature of the error that the application cannot connect to the mail service, or that the mail service rejects the connection? Check that the Kerio Connect services can accept connections from 127.0.0.1 (localhost). Check DNS resolution to be sure that is not the problem. turn on SMTP logging and see if there are any clues there about what is going wrong.

The best way to ensure that e-mail notification works from Carbon Copy Cloner is to use SMTP Authentication to port 587 ("Other" in the Sent From e-mail preference pane).

Configure it as appropriate for your server and test it.

I've got it set up that way on our e-mail server and have no problems.

Cheers,
Jon

Hi,
Thanks for reply. In the configuration no restriction configured. The Server accept all connections from local network and loopback device.
DNS is working. If I use the IP Address the same Problem. When I try often I get the following message from Carbon Copy Cloner. I have the impression kerio mailserver accept mails in a certain time.

Message:
CCC cannot connect to SMTP Server. Check the Connection and smtp Settings?

Can you please outline your configuration for us?

A screenshot of the CCC e-mail preferences would be a good place to start, example of what I'm looking for enclosed.

If you have a custom configuration, please make sure you snap a screenshot of that as well.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Jon
