Hi all,
I am pleased to announce Kerio Connect 9.0.3 is available. This version contains a new anti-spam extension for on-premises deployments. Kerio Anti-spam (advanced) is an extension (powered by Bitdefender) that provides a more advanced level of spam filtering on incoming messages than the standard spam filter (powered by SpamAssassin) in Kerio Connect. Kerio Anti-spam (advanced) can be used in addition to the standard spam filter. Review the Knowledge Base Article: Kerio Anti-spam filter for more information.
To order Kerio Anti-spam (advanced), visit the Kerio online store* or contact your Kerio Sales representative today.
The complete list of changes are below.
If you are running Kerio Connect 9.0 or later, you can upgrade directly from the product administration. Customers with older versions can download Kerio Connect 9.0.3 here.
Thank you,
Changes in 9.0.3:

I've turned on the new Anti-Spam. I've also turned on the Debug log message for it, but see absolutely nothing in the logs that would indicate it is working. I also looked in message headers - what tag should I see there for its contribution?
X-Spam-Status: No, hits=2.2 required=3.0
tests=BAYES_40: -0.276, HTML_IMAGE_RATIO_08: 0.001, HTML_MESSAGE: 0.001,
URIBL_BLOCKED: 0.001, URIBL_DBL_SPAM: 2.5, TOTAL_SCORE: 2.227,autolearn=no

You should see new KERIO_ANTI_SPAM test result and new X-Kerio-Anti-Spam email header.
Make sure that communication with Kerio and Bitdefender servers is allowed (see http://kb.kerio.com/product/kerio-connect/server-configurati on/antispam/kerio-anti-spam-filter-1886.html). Kerio Anti-Spam needs to download few files from Kerio servers before it can be started. Until then the default spam filter is still used. It should not take more than few minutes however.

I still see nothing.. four hours later.. no X-Kerio-Anti-Spam in any email, no KERIO_ANTI_SPAM in Debug. One of my customers reports same thing. It SAYS it activated at startup:
[15/Apr/2016 10:12:33] - New license has been set: 1
[15/Apr/2016 10:12:33] - The new license also supports Sophos antivirus, Sophos antivirus check remains unchanged.
[15/Apr/2016 10:12:33] - The new license also supports Exchange ActiveSync, Exchange ActiveSync protocol support remains unchanged.
[15/Apr/2016 10:12:33] - The new license supports Kerio Anti-spam, activating support for Kerio Anti-spam.
Shouldn't there be something in the Error or Warning logs if it cannot get to Bitdefender? I see nothing there either.

Does the new Bitdefender learn from people moving messages in and out of the Junk folder? I went ahead and paid for the new license and set it up, but thus far it seems to be worse than the built-in SPAM filtering... I was hoping for a marked improvement and am still hoping that it will learn, but it doesn't look like its learning anything at all (stats page showing 0 for marked as spam or marked as not spam, but I know that's wrong).

If/before you buy something new, it would be an idea to read to corresponding article linked in the first post - or?
Quote:The Kerio Anti-spam extension provides an advanced level of spam filtering on incoming messages.
Kerio Anti-spam uses the Bitdefender online scanning service and replaces the SpamAssassin's SURBL and Bayes filters. Users don't need to use the Spam and Not spam buttons in Kerio Connect Client and Microsoft Outlook with Kerio Outlook Connector, so Kerio Connect hides those buttons.

[15/Apr/2016 10:12:33] - The new license supports Kerio Anti-spam, activating support for Kerio Anti-spam. This message only says that the Kerio Anti-spam feature is supported in the license. Please enable the "Kerio Anti-spam Processing" debug messages to see what is actually happening.
The Kerio Anti-spam plugin normally starts by downloading a few files from our servers. It would look like this in the log:
[19/Apr/2016 14:48:16][8428] {kerioantispam} Checking for updates...
[19/Apr/2016 14:48:16][8428] {kerioantispam} Found a new update (4217249 bytes)
[19/Apr/2016 14:48:16][8428] {kerioantispam} Fetching file asconf.ini
...
[19/Apr/2016 14:48:20][8428] {kerioantispam} Updates were successfully installed.
The Kerio Anti-spam module cannot work without these files. If the first download attempt fails (e.g. if the download does not get through a firewall), the module tries again every 5 minutes until it succeeds. In the meantime the incoming mails are processed as if the Kerio Anti-spam feature was was disabled.
When everything is ready it writes
[19/Apr/2016 14:48:26][6220] {kerioantispam} Kerio Anti-spam is ready.
and it starts processing new incoming mail.
