kerio connect 9.0.2 Spamassassin [message #128171]

I have updated to 9.0.2 when it released.

Now I face some issue with spamassassin.

After I updated to 9.0.2. A lot of mails were rejected due to high score. I have tag score 5 , block score 9.5. I rejoice that I have set all rejected emails are forwarded to a quarantine mailbox. Else I will lost a lot of important emails.

I tried to reset spamassassin bayes. As instructed here http://kb.kerio.com/product/kerio-connect/server-configurati on/antispam/optimizing-spam-protection-in-kerio-connect-265. html .

The bayes folder, auto-whitelist.db and bayes.db are created automatically after I restart kerio connect.

But now spamassassin filter status is still learning. It has been two days I reset the bayes.

As mentioned here, http://kb.kerio.com/product/kerio-connect/server-configurati on/antispam/optimizing-spam-protection-in-kerio-connect-265. html , once the number of trained messages has reached 200, the Bayes filter will become active.

I have a lot of emails per day. I believe to train 200 messages for spamassasion to activate is not a problem. In the bayes folder, file size for auto-whitelist.db and bayes.db are 0.

How to check spamassassin trained messages count and to reactivate it ?

It is not likely that message blocking is caused by Bayes filter (it cannot add more than 4.1 points). So deleting the Bayes database without actually checking the email headers for spam test result was unfortunate and premature.
Enable SpamAssassin debug messages in the debug log to see if everything works fine.

Hello!

I have the same problem. User in our domain sends letter to another user in our domain.

Header tests give this letter spam score = 8.001

Letter get hits because of my custom rule lcl_TO_10 which worked fine before upgrade. Here is the rule:

header lcl_TO_10 To =~ /^((?!(rostherm|ceh1|lifeproducts|heitzen|neokom)).)*$/igm
score lcl_TO_10 8.00

I wrote tihs rule because we recieved spam letters with our mailboxes in hidden copy, that's why I decided to mark as spam all incoming letters where header "To:" doesn't have any of our domains

@jiunnyik First analysis is always the headers of a problem email. Example:

AWL: -0.016,BAYES_99: 4.07,BAYES_999: 0.2,HTML_MESSAGE: 0.001,LOTS_OF_MONEY: 0.001,MIME_HTML_MOSTLY: 0.428,US_DOLLARS_3: 1.754

You would then see if BAYES_99 is triggered with each email. If not, there is no sense in deleting the Bayes folder.

The "open file" error you get is most probably caused by you deleting the bayes folder.

If you have copied the content of the bayes folder before you deleted it, just put it back and see how it goes.

It should not be related with the bayes folder, as stated here, http://kb.kerio.com/product/kerio-connect/server-configurati on/antispam/optimizing-spam-protection-in-kerio-connect-265. html , bayes folder and related files are created automatically after kerio connect restart.

This is not the first time I removed bayes folder. Previously after I restart kerio connect, spamassassin used to activated in one or two days.

But this time it still in learning stage after few days.

You can check the count in the Admin console:

Configuration > Spam Filter > SpamAssassin

For me, it says:

Filter status: Active

Messages learned as spam: 27856

Messages learned as not spam: 103512

Both must be over 200. If one of them is below, the status is not getting active.

That means something went wrong when you deleted the folder and KC tried to re-create the files. You should probably open a support case.

I'm afraid we need to know the full debug log. Did you make any change in SpamAssassin configuration?

I will provide any log needed. Is the debug log for {spamassassin} only you need?

I increased the spamassassin body scan size, added some Internet Blacklists, and some Custom Rules.
