Hi All:

I have a Windows server 2012 r2 running Connect version 8.4.1. It's currently a standalone unit (connected to our network, but not a member of the domain). I would like to join it to our domain and promote it to DC. Would anyone our there have any experience with this?

I'm specifically thinking about any problems with Kerio Connect with regards to permissions, operations, or having to re-install Connect because of the move. Better to go in knowing than to have to clean up afterwards, right?

TIA.

I don't believe joining the server to the domain will cause any trouble, other than the outages during the required reboots. I would approach making it a DC with caution. There are those that advise not having any other services on a DC. I'm also not terribly familiar with Win2012, so I don't know if the AD components have the potential to conflict with Kerio Connect.

We had Connect running on a DC for a small client (5 Users), it ran fine for 2 years. I can tell you permission wise it will run, but we did make it a DC before installing Kerio.

I know it isn't your exact situation but I hope it helps to know it can work.
