I'm running a trial copy of KC 8.5.2 on a Win7P workstation.
The Outlook 2013 client on the same workstation needs to connect by IMAP & SMTP to our old Exchange server for now, not to KC.
This works fine when the KC server software is shut down but fails with timeouts for both send and receive when the KC server is running.
How does running KC prevent Outlook from connecting to Exchange on another machine? It doesn't make sense.

I have found the problem  . FileMaker Server was also running (but with errors) on the same machine. I disabled the Windows Service for FileMaker Server and now KC and Outlook can run together normally. It was also stopping the KC-Sophos AV from updating.
Perhaps this may be useful for someone in the future.
