Kerio connect public folders are accessible by all users although not marked for specific user.
All apple MacOSX 10 clients with mail app.
Public folders is approx 70GByte and some useres with older MacBookAir only have 64GByte HD available.

Hi Pascal,

What is it you are after? Being able to only sync some of the public folders? Unfortunately the newer versions of Apple Mail does not allow you to pick and choose, you have to either sync all public folders or none. Older versions of Apple Mail such as 10.8 and earlier will allow you to pick and choose the public folders.

The alternative would be to either use Thunderbird or WebMail.

I hope this helps,
Vicky

Hi Vicky,

No selections needed. I just want to grant acces to some (not all) users. If i select or deselect this in the user pane in Kerio admin, still all users are synced and have read acces.

Pascal,

I'm having some difficulties with my Public Folders as well (see http://forums.kerio.com/t/29578//).

Not quite the same, but similar.

A workaround I've found for the indiscriminate syncing is to let Mail synchronize with the server, then I go into ~/Library/Mail/v2/IMAP-AccountName/Public Folders.mbox and remove the contents that I don't want, then set the permissions on Public Folders.mbox to read only.

Absolutely not an ideal solution, but I've done it to keep our public folders from overunning those people who have a small SSD on their laptop.

I've signed up as an Apple Developer (only $99/yr) so I can file bug reports like this. Maybe if enough people and especially larger developers like Kerio file reports about this problem it will get fixed.

Cheers,
Jon

Hi Jin,

thanks for the tip. This is a perfect workaround to avoid problems with small SSD's.

Stil remains that even when the user isn't granted acces, they all can read the emails in public folders.
eg by means of webmail.
