Apparently LG has modified the native Email App so that it is not compatible with the standard Active Sync protocol. This means that the Email app on the LG phones will not successfully connect up Connect. I have tried on two phones with the same result, you eventually get a message "Cannot connect to server. Try again after checking network connection and entered information." Entered information was correct, as well as entered server information. Watching debug log would show the connection to time out when it should of completed.
Kerio Support verified that LG is not supported. (But I love my LG.) Kerio's solution, if you want to use Active Sync, is to use a 3rd party app. Here is what I found with the different apps I tried. I have a large total mailbox, over 10GB, and a ton of emails in my inbox.
Nine - Trial, free for 2 weeks, then $9.99. This one worked out of the gate.
Mailwise - free. On a new test email account that has nothing in it, it setup right away. On my huge mailbox, it never finishes the initial setup even though I have set the account to only download one-day's email. Even changing the settings to download nothing, still never finishes. (Sent developer an email on this.) Debug log shows the same data being transferred over and over again, which looks like it is a list of all the different folders in my inbox.
K-9 - free. Would not successfully authenticate.
Microsoft Outlook - free. Would not successfully authenticate.
Aquamail - free. Would not successfully authenticate.
Email Type mail - free. Would not successfully authenticate.
Any one found another good Android Active Sync client?

My GMail does not give an avtive sync option, only gmail / google apps, and IMAP / POP options. Tried 2 different G3s on lollipop, and neither would connect.
Different note,
Mailwise never synced after 36 hours, but was responsive for 71% battery usage while trying.

I tried both ways, let it auto discover and setting it up manually. Setting it up manually, everything looks like it is going to work, get to the Security Policy (Admin can remote wipe if you tick him off) page, accept it, it starts processing like it is going to work, then errors out. Tried this on 2 different G3 Lollipop phones. It is something with the LG Email app.
You can go to Android Police site and download and install the Exchange Service APK, and then active sync will work in the GMail app.
