Can someone spell out exactly how the users Re Create their Accounts on Android Phones?

Do they just stop working?

More detailed step by step information would be helpful so I can email our users, before we complete the update.

Thanks

Simply just delete the account on the phone, and create it again as a new account. Android's are all different in their e-mail setup, so there is no one instruction for them. You'll have to go to the OEM to get full instructions on this.

Got it. Should add that to the release notes.

As a follow up to this question, do existing mobile devices just stop working after the upgrade to v8.5? My impression is that existing mobile devices should keep working but won't benefit from the new features of ActiveSync 14.1.

Can anyone confirm this. We have hundreds of users using mobile devices and re-creating all accounts at upgrade would be a huge problem.

Thank you,

Bryan

There's more than one of us in that boat. Can someone please confirm the behavior of a UN-updated mobile device?

We have about 40 smartphones on Kerio Connect 8.5, a mix of 25% Android, 5% iPhone and 70% WP8. On maybe 5 of them we've recreated the account. All the others kept working, no issues so far.

They will not stop working. But if your users have LG phones, don't have them delete a working profile. We have a couple G3s that will not setup new profiles because of LG changes to the native email client. Nine mail app will use Active Sync on an LG.

if the accounts on the androids are not redone, it connects with ActiveSync 12.1 (or whatever it had before) without problems.

I renewed the accounts on all android systems, but .. well...

Still don't know what's the selling point of active sync 14. Droid still works like before.
