Hi
I have a Win 8.1 Pro 64bit machine with Office 2010 64bit. I tried to install Kerio Online Connector KOC 8.4.1, however the installation process ends with a cryptic error message. The was able to repeat the error on another machine with same configuration. It seems the 32bit version cannot be installed on a 64bit machine.
Can you verify that? Is a KOC 64bit version planned? Or an update on the 32bit version that runs on 64bit machines?

P.S. KOFF is not really an option here due to large mailbox and limited SSD size. I now the possibility of configuring KOFF not to cache mails, but why using fat KOFF for only accessing mails online?

Microsoft recommends installing Office 2010 in 32bit mode. If you do have 64bit Office installed, I'm sure you will need the 64bit online connector.....which apparently doesn't exist. The 32bit version does run on 64bit machines but only connecting to Office running 32bit.

Thanks for the quick responses.
Just to understand correctly: I am facing three problems here. First is that KOC seems not work with MS Office 2010 (which I guess is currently still the most used MS Office version). Second problem is that KOC only supports 32bit. Third is that KOC might not run under MS OS higher than Windows 7.
You say "old Kerio Outlook Connector". But KOC is still pushed to higher version numbers. So it is old but still updated? Will KOC die in near future?
Personally, I like KOC for what it is and what it does (or did): A small but powerful little piece of software that enables Outlook to connect to Kerio mailboxes. Not more, not less. And definitively not a wrong concept in the time of always online and data storage in the cloud... And probably not much of effort to maintain that little piece of software since most of the code from KOFF could be used for KOC.

That might be a design flaw of kerio. Many installations still have office <2007 and Server 2008R2/Windows 7 with the KOC. With a new kerio install, if they didn't up the version number, they wouldn't be able to access the server again. Thats why they put KOC EOL, but still keep it alive until most users have changed to KOFF.

As far as I understand it, MS changed outlook so much, that it became quite a problem to access the mails offline without a underlying cache system. Actually KOFF does the same as KOC, just caches the mails locally. With every new Office version the direct access to the server became impossible.
This is a problem with microsoft. Outlook is not documented or open like other things, so you have to develop around it and reverse engineer.
If you want outlook with all features you have to get exchange, that's why ms tries to throw anything between the feets of any compitition trying to go around that.
Just use the KOFF and be done with. Personally I would also like a direct access and less cache locally (On a RDS it's fun - that's why the user cache of kerio is on a SSD there) but I guess that won't come, otherwise they wouldn't have ditched KOC for KOFF.

I would bei interested in an official answer from Kerio. This would help us in understanding the decisions from Kerio and would raise the acceptance of such decisions.

Dear Pavel,
sorry for answering that late...
The workflow at the moment is as follows: 5 users are working on the info<_at_> account on the WTS. They use the KOC which gives them very fast updates on the several colored flags in Outlook. This is what is most important for them.
If the KOFF would give the same performance (about 5 to 30 seconds for syncing these status information) it would be a welcome alternative...
