iOS Profiles + IMAP + S/MIME (Bug) [message #116052]

I have installed the s/mime certificate under the user in the web interface of Kerio Connect.
Then I use safari to create an automatic profile on an iOS device.
The profile is created correctly and the certificate is imported with the profile.

Now the problem is that the profile does not take into account that it has imported a certificate and hence does not open the S/MIME option in the Advanced Menu of the IMAP Account

Is this a bug, a bad procedure and is there a way around it ... the other choice which I do not want to use is ActiveSync

We have the same issue. I guess I will open a support ticket. If I hear anything I will update here.

It is not a bug. iOS 7 does not support SMIME option for individual emails. Once the SMIME option is enabled, it *always* encrypts *all* emails to *all* recipients (if you have a public key of course). And it cannot be disabled since iOS does not allow that for accounts created with a profile.
That is the reason why profile does not enable SMIME in iOS.
With iOS 8 Apple has changed this and SMIME can be enabled on per-message basis. So we will change the profile and it will allow SMIME option.

So just to make sure I understand, in the next version of Kerio, it will allow the s/mime to be turned on in the profile if the IOS is version 8?

I submitted a support ticket and was told this will be fixed in 8.3.3 though they didn't have a release date, it was likely going to be released soon.
