I know the option exists to limit the incoming message size, server wide in SMTP Server -> Security Options.

Is there any way to limit the incoming message size per user similar to how we can apply limits on outgoing messages per user?

Even if it's a rule I need to manually enter into a configuration file.

I need to limit the incoming size of messages for our sales team while leaving it unrestricted for our customer service team.

Afaik there should be an Option on a per user or group base. Anyway, don't try to fix a problem in a way it doesn't make sense. We have a limit of 15mb per mail for all. That's more then enough for all and shouldn't be higher. If the support needs bigger limits, they could send multiple mails etc. Or not even better, make a public ftp or owncloud server for the customers to upload. Mails are a bad way to send files, because the encoding makes them even bigger. Also most account nts only allow 10 mb or less to receive or send anyway.

Also, if someone would access a mail with like 50mb from the outside in his home office, it would have a Hughe bandwidth impact to your DSL line. Especially if you have a crappy upload. Not to mention the extreme space needs if they send those mails internally to 5,ppl.

Just saying there are better ways for your problem out there then raising the limit size

Thanks Maerad - I'm well aware of what people should or shouldn't use email for. I have a FileCloud where people can upload files if needed - but as we all know sometimes we can't control what customers do.

You mention there should be an option on a per user or group base. Can you point in that direction? I've looked throughout the Web Admin and can't find anything.
