Hi all,
I'm new to Kerio and seeking an alternative to Exchange 2003 (specifically). My organization is predominately a Google Apps shop but we currently have a larger number of legacy applications running on various open-systems that use Exchange as a relay and Exchange distribution groups as recipients. Some of these distribution groups are in root domain while the majority are in a child domain. We also have contacts for every user so we can forward email out from these systems, MFPs, etc. to their Google Apps mailbox. My question is whether Kerio will support these legacy applications using the existing distribution groups and forwards? What is involved such as schema extension, AD sync, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Kerio Connect can do that. You'll set up the users; each will get an e-mail address on the KC server. Then set each user to forward mail to their respective Google mail address. Finally, create groups and put people in them.
Alternatively, if NO ONE is going to use the KC box for mail, you could create mailing lists. Each named for the destination 'group'. The Google Mail addresses can be entered directly into the mailing list, so you don't have to create KC users & do forwarding. This may reduce your licensing requirement, as a mail list requires only one KC user license, regardless of how many people are in it.
Hope this helps
