I'll update to 8.5.1 and report back...

Hopefully that will be the fix.

Thanks

Nope - no change...

One thing I have noticed is that on my 10.10 installation I do have TLS enabled, but there is no option for that on 10.11?

Cheers

Have you checked your Kerio Connect server logs when you're attempting this from El Capitan? Since I am able to sign in and send messages, we know that this is not an incompatibility between Kerio Connect 8.5.1 and El Capitan.

Do you have other accounts in Messages? Check this out:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5576056?tstart=0

I searched for the SocketStream error from your Console, and found that article. It mentions an SSL issue with an AIM account. I'm running Messages in El Cap using only my Kerio Connect Jabber account. Nothing else.

Still no joy.

I've tried removing all certificates from the Keychain, the only other thing to try is a new local account on my laptop. although I suspect that will be the same.

At this point, I don't think it's a Kerio Connect incompatibility issue. There's something unique about your situation. I tried this again using another Kerio Connect server. I was able to sign in successfully. Your Console log shows what appears to be an SSL issue. Maybe you could try it without using SSL?

No difference with another account or SSL. I'm not convinced about the server setup, as another 10.10 computer with identical setup connects with no issues.

Ok so 10.11 is definitely breaking it somewhere..

Clean 10.10 build - messages configured and working.
Upgrade to 10.11 and messages can no longer connect...

OK. Maybe it is 10.11, but why does it work for me? Perhaps it's that my 10.11 install is completely clean? I did not upgrade from a previous version of OS X when I installed it. Mine is a completely clean install.

I had same issues. Chat with 10.11 did not worked with Kerios Jabber Server anymore, no Adium no iChat! Updated to 8.5.1, now it works!

Since this works for me using DP4 and DP5 on Kerio Connect 8.5.1, I don't think that this is an incompatibility. It worked for me on the first try.

Be that as it may, I, and others, have had issues with an existing build (10.10) that was working perfectly, but now does not work on 10.11 - therefore there must be some issues with Kerio at some stage.
