i'm looking a version with all patch fixed, i only see the version 7 (the license of 6 don't work althought we had problems since the first version of 6.0 with snmp, when the server go down, when the ping lies, etc..) and i see (forum) that the new version have a lot of problems too (normaly with a beta version).

Jumping into the discussion here.

I recently sent an email to GFI's supportdesk, about a problem i had with NSM6. I was told to upgrade to NSM7, before they would even consider helping me.

I find this very strange. Especially since now i see a new build of NSM6 will be released soon! So you can upgrade to the latest NSM6 build, but there's no support anymore?

LTon,

If you have a valid Maitnenance Agreement, it is always recommended to upgrade to the latest build of the product.

Since there were a number of new features and enhancements in NSM 7, it is best to upgrade.

The 6 version don't work fine never. We buy 5.5, upgrde to 6. Since then we had a lot of problems... too much cpu use in linux script and without it, the snmp go down with false alerts, no https good request with false alerts, false timeout ping without alerts, etc.....

I understand that, and since i definately needed support i was forced to upgrade to NSM7. I don't quite agree with this though, as it should be me who decides when to upgrade. Let's be honest, NSM6 still isn't bug-free, so i was a little reluctant to upgrade to a new version.

Hi,

Note that Network Server Monitor version 6 us currently still supported.

Altough recommended to upgrade, you can still user NSM version 6 and get support.

Hi,

The next (and probably last) build of Network Server Monitor version 6 is expected early in 2006.
