Hello

Does anybody know if there is any specific literature explaining the upgrade process to V6

I couldnt find any , just an install guide. I went a head with running the install  anyway over

the latest revision of version 5.

No errors on install , but when I go in and click through the default database it tells me it is checking schema

and then says current databse needs upgrade , click yes .

When I start this the scroll bar starts going but no indication of how long it should take.

I left it a day , when I came back to it it seemed to have frozen so restarted the machine.

Is there any other procedure I can consider

Cheers

Chris

You try try going through the wizard up to the point where it asks you upgrade and before clicking yes try stopping the GFI MailArchiver Search and then click yes and see if it finishes.

Database is firebird type

I have stopped search service and then clicked yes

How long should it take ?

The default database is pretty empty?

Is there a proper upgrade guide?

Cheers

This is a possible issue with the new version. How big is the archive store? How many emails?

There are about 7 stores , but the one I am checking and presumably updating first is new.

I created it before the upgrade to v6 and set it has default.

It currently as not got nay emails in it

As soon as it comes on line though it will strat recieveing from the exchange server

Can I revert back to the old version?

If you have upgraded the schema on any of the stores then no. You might want to go ahead and create a case so we can perform more in depth troubleshooting. You can do this at the following link. http://crm.gfi.com/Customizations/SupportIssue/support.aspx?lcode=en

What would be the roll back procedure is none of the schema's have updated

If you go through the wizard and it does not ask you to upgrade then the store has an older schema. Uninstall 6 and reinstall 5.

Hello Michael

I presume you mean

"go through the wizard and it does ask you to upgrade then the store has an older schema".

To uninstall is it just control panel add /remove programs and it will leave v5 on?

Otherwise completely removing 6 is scary because I have got some large databses archived and
I can not aford to lose them

Regarsd

Chris
