We inherited this from anothor company so we're new to this program.
There are three archive stores. We need to move at least two of them off this server to either a NAS or another server to free up space. I can't find any information on how to do this.

ironsidesecurity,

Without installing GFI MailArchiver in a role based deployment most of the database files have to be local if using the Firebird database.  If you are using SQL you can move these databases between SQL servers without an issue.  The database binaries can be stored on a mapped drive.  If you look at http://support.gfi.com/manuals/en/mar5/mar5manual.1.23.html under Step 10 you can see where this is discussed.  Let me know if you have further questions.

Ok, thanks, We'll be retiring this server soon. Two of the databases need to be archived off of the server when it's retired. How is this done?

Ok, I see that. Is it as simple as moving the binary data to the new location and editing the path?

I still have two unanswered questions here:

1. How do we archive the databases permanently off the server? We are using firebird.

2. I need to move the existing database off the server that GFI is installed on and move to different server. With a firebird database, is this as easy as moving the binary data to the other server and changing the path to point to the new server?

ironsidesecurity,

1.  You would need to copy the database file and binary files to where you would want to archive these to.  Please stop all GFI MailArchiver services before doing this.

2.  The same can be said for this question.  You would need to stop the GFI MailArchiver serivces and then copy the database file and binary files to the new server.  Then you would be able to attach this database to GFI MailArchiver on the new server.
