Does anyone know how to change where the DebugLogs folders are located.

I want to move the folder from the C:\ drive to another drive.

Ideas?

The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GFI\ME14\Config\LogDir registry entry seems to point to the location. Editing this may prove useful, but I've not tried it and don't know of a KB article about it. You will need to restart the services after changing the entry. Also note that if you perform an upgrade, this change will be overwritten.

If it doesn't work, you could try using junction to relocate the folder.

This KB article details how to disable debug logging if you would prefer not to move the folder. Bear in mind that the debuglogs are useful for troubleshooting though.

If all else fails, this very old post details moving ME to a different drive, including pitfalls.

How would you go about creating a junction?

Get junction.exe from www.microsoft.com/sysinternals.

junction "C:\Program Files\GFI\MailEssentials\debuglogs" "D:\Newlocation"

The Newlocation must exist, and the debuglogs folder must not exist - ie. stop the services (might also need to stop IIS Admin), move the debuglogs folder to the new location, then run the junction command. So if you're moving the debuglogs folder to the root of the D: drive, use: junction "C:\Program Files\GFI\MailEssentials\debuglogs" "D:\debuglogs"

Or use linkd from the resource kits with the same syntax.

Run either command without parameters for help text.

It's a bit of a fudge, but it's got me out of some sticky situations in the past
