bartjoo -> Mail must go to the junk folder but mostly to de inbox (28.Oct.2009 3:00:56 AM)

hello, i have mailessentials 41.1 installed on a exchange 2007 server. I got a lot of spam and in the monitor i see that it is blocked bij de spamrazer account.
BUT the mail will be delivered in the inbox :S i think thats 80% of the spam goes to the junk folder but 20% of the spam to the inbox. BUT! SPAMRAZER see this (20%) as spam, because in the monitor he said: SPAMRAZE blocked.
what can i do??

Hi,

Please check the following article:
http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID002097

Also, please could you confirm the following:

-Which actions do you have selected for Spamrazer?
-Are all the users affected by the same behaviour?
-Are all the spam emails in the inbox spam detected by Spamrazer only?
-Are there emails detected by Spamrazer in the junk folder at all?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Regards,

No 80% in the junk folder and 20% in the inbox.

Do you have Outlook configured to "also trust email from my contacts" and have your internal users in your Contacts? This is in Tools/Options/Junk Email/Safe Senders

Also check the Safe Senders list and Safe Recipients list.

If an email is from someone on these lists or in your Contacts (if enabled), then Outlook will over-ride Mail Essentials and move it back into the Inbox.

Do you have an SPF record? This is the best way of stopping spam email says it's from your domain. You will probably need your SPF record to end in "-all" and have the SPF module set to Low.
